MyGuardian secures student and staff safety across
the University of Surrey in Guildford
MyGuardian is the first mobile app to use the hub. It helps students and staff navigate around the University of Surrey safely and securely with smart tags placed across the campus. The app was developed by the University of Surrey and ManagePlaces who have over 500 smart tags on the campus.
Students leaving a campus building can scan these smart tags next to the entrance using the MyGuardian app with a short message telling a friend or group of friends where they are and when they are expected to reach home. Once home, they can let those friends know they have arrived safely by scanning a smart tag in their home again.

If you are a University of Surrey student or staff and would like to try the MyGuardian Application, please read the Participant Consent Terms and Acknowledgment. Once you have agreed to the terms and clicked on submit, you will be directed to our Testflight page. Please either complete the iOS Operating System OR the Android Operating System form depending on which type of Smartphone you own to get started.
